Fans forced "Some Hearts" into the country charts. Billboard switched "some Hearts" into country genre before this song hit the airwaves. Billboard didn't want anymore backlash from fans. Fans said "Some Hearts" belongs in country music category and they didn't stop until Billboard put "Some Hearts" into country category. Billboard said finally because they put "Some Hearts" into country category.

Actually Carrie first album "Some Hearts" showed up in country chart in Billboard after second week it was out. Main reason it happen so quickly. Fans blitzed Billboard. No song or album goes anywhere without fans pushing it. Yes, fans were buying "Some Hearts and pushing it to no. 1, but also pushing it to get it into country album category and Billboard relented and put into country category.

Difference with Carrie is a fan backed artist, yes, Artisa was her label, but Arista owned Idol and Idol is pop-oriented show, idea was to get pop artist an album. Carrie turned it into all genre show. Yes, Nashville completely ignore Idol for first three seasons. Carrie got Nashville attention, much to their chagrin.
