When I reverted to Islam, I realised that I became a better follower of Jesus than I ever could have imagined. I realised I was following Jesus's teachings just as he taught and practiced himself. It made me safer and more knowledgeable. Islam is indeed peace and you realise it as time goes by. May Allah guide you all.

As a former catholic I felt the same way about the holidays, because it's connected to family.
Now I only feel disgust when I think about the pagan rituals and the disrespect to Jesus.

When you truly believe, you only care to please Allah. Your family won't help you on the day of judgement.

And yes it is hard to disappoint your family, but Allah tests whom he loves.

@4:25 Kelly, I went through something very similar. I grew up celebrating all the Christian holidays and that’s pretty much all I knew. It’s a comfort zone that’s difficult to move away from. However, since reverting, I don’t miss that aspect of my life at all. There are certainly fond memories latched to that period of my life but when it comes to God/Allah SWT calling you to a higher purpose, it’s about letting go of your past and moving forward on a path that our Creator has laid before you. May Allah SWT guide you 🤲🏾
