⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ VTA: Light Rail Trains in Downtown San Jose

Показать описание
Several VTA light rail trains on the Mountain View-Winchester and Alum Rock-Santa Teresa lines are featured in this multiple-location video. San Jose's got some very nice Downtown stations, including Santa Clara and St James, which are the two stations found in this video (north and south).

Valley Transportation Authority's light-rail system consists of three lines and 41.6 miles of track. It is one of the lowest-performing light-rail systems in the country, with less than 30,000 average weekday passengers and a ridership-per-mile of 719. By comparison, MUNI light rail carries over four times as many riders on less track mileage.

VTA's ridership will hopefully boom with the opening of direct connections to BART's future stations at Milpitas-Montague and at Downtown San Jose-Santa Clara. Passengers will be able to seamlessly transfer between the two networks, which will undoubtedly serve San Jose and the rest of the South Bay well.

I’ve been riding Public Transit from Asheville NC, we have no rail system, they closed the Greyhound Bus Station, and turned it into a bar . Now people have to wait by a Shell Gas Station outside . I’m so upset . I’m from Staten Island NY . Plenty of Buses Trains and Planes . I’m stuck in the Mountains. Jesus I’m going back to NYC I didn’t get to ride the Brightline in Florida . I lived there for half of my life also. Miami, Palm Beach County, Boca Raton, Broward County.

To my European eyes an eye-catching tram that really looks like a train.

I do wish they looked more sleek and had larger (floor to ceiling windows) like some more modern street trams have. That said, I love the station design. I especially like Baypointe Station.

I always love watching the trains whenever I visit San Jose! I haven’t been on one in years because we usually just walk from the Amtrak/Caltrain station to Downtown.

Btw, we have San Jose’s old trains here in Sacramento! They are only used on the blue line.

Vta transportation authority guess it helps everyone. The only problem is buying a fare ticket. I don't have money to buy a bus pass. I wish I could buy a vta bus pass with my ebt food stamps. This is a big problem. I'm still trying to figure this the solution to this problem. If anyone knows let me know.
