If you own a house worth $1.5M, and you owe $1.4M on it, you’re not worth $1.5M.

I've started reviewing my wealth monthly, find it a useful exercise that either makes me feel good or gives me motivation to start being serious / stop wasting money :)

25 turning 26 having a net worth of 200k sounds pretty ok. 3 years active duty army and investment. Save everything while in the military then invest it into stocks

Yes! As Harv Eker said we have to focus our attention on creating a net worth through not only income but also saving, investing and simplification!

You will never truly know your net worth until you sell of 100% of all your assets. You can only guess and estimate at best.

Should I include regular payments when it comes to my liabilities? (I'm talking about rent, transportation, groceries, utilities, and so on..)

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. Iv been asking this question for a long time and never get a str8 answer. So I joined the military in 2004 and will retire in 2024. I fall under the old school retirement system where as soon as I retire in 2024 at age 39, , ill immediately begin to collect about $3k/month for the rest of my life. If I die my wife will still collect that until she dies. If I do the math, the longer I live the more I collect. If I live to be 78 (average American male) that would be $1.4million collected. Not to mention all the medical benefits. How do you calculate something like that into a net worth???? Thanks!

This is excellent. Always tell others your net worth is the best way to measure your finances. Now in my 50’s with a paid for car, paid for home, many thousands of dollars in my retirement account mine is now about $900, 000 (with $600, 000 liquid and $300, 000 as my share of home owned jointly).
