Lel is asked all the time in the comments on our channel about how she thinks and how she does what she does, so in this video, she explained how she approaches a project. How to frame your work and goes into detail about positioning, positive and negative spaces, and much more. this video is also a bit of a tutorial on how to cut up our Made by Marley Decoupage paper to make art. Enjoy

Oh, please don’t apologize for your videos being so long. One of things I love is that they are long and you take the time to really teach us, plus it’s enjoyable I like watching you work and you’re thinking process and how you create. Also, it’s fascinating to observe how you see things. I was happy when I looked and saw oh great this video is over 45 minutes. And watching it I was thinking before you ever said this about it being so long, that oh, I wish this one was like at least an hour lol. It’s not boring and if someone does get bored, they can fast forward. But I’m more likely to rewind lol😂. It’s not slow and boring, like we’re watching you wash the piece and take the hardware off and so on. Which I appreciate people showing me how they go about it but after a very short time you don’t need to see that anymore, and we see that on other videos, which is appreciated. But yours is all fascinating every minute of the videos and if you made them shorter, I’d be really disappointed lol. Well, you can’t please everybody so there’s always gonna be others maybe that feel differently and that’s OK and they can fast forward. that’s understandable. Plus as I told you before. I look forward to my Sunday mornings. I get up and make a cup of coffee or tea and I get all comfortable and I turn your video on. So if it was short, I wouldn’t get to enjoy my coffee as I watched it hehehehehe 😁.

I’m only halfway through the video, but I just had to stop and tell you that I so appreciate everything you teach us and today alone I am learning so much. Not just about how to paint or how to apply decoupage paper… but how to look at your project and everything you’re teaching us about negative space and balance without having a mirror image, it’s a whole new way of looking at things for me. Never ever did I imagine using decoupage paper in this way😮. The possibilities are now endless, and our pieces can be even more so one-of-a-kind. You teach us how to see things and understanding so differently and more complete. Thank you both so much for everything you give us❣️❣️

Good heavens Lel! I was not expecting to find out you can and DO make “fabric art/ quilting pictures” with decoupage paper! I am absolutely blown away, I just never thought of it! And it’s totally amazing and I love it. This was a fantastic tutorial. You are an excellent teacher, I always learn so much. My head is spinning in a good way.
I certainly hope and pray you are feeling better by now. Give Martyn a big hug. He knew what catch was perfect and got it for you despite a bit of cost! THanks Martyn for taking such good care of our Lel. Love you both. God bless!

I have always believed I over think things. It was nice to know you also think projects through so much.

When I first saw this piece I thought you had released new paper! I was wowed to find out it was from 2 of your existing papers!! You continue to challenge me to “see” potential in patterns, colors, and design placement. Bravo!!!

One of the gazillion things I love about this tutorial is the idea of cutting out shapes to piece together a motif or picture. If you’d seen me you’d have seen a big ole forehead slap and me saying “Doh!” Cuz yeah—never thought of that. Thank you Lel and Marty! ❤❤❤.

Thanks so much for your tutorials. I’ve watched so many with you that I’m developing a Scottish accent! You’ve definitely inspired to think outside the box. It’ll always be blendy McBlenderson for me that makes me smile.

Oh bless you. Some of my most treasured painted pieces were things no one wanted.
My most beloved furry family were unwanted.
Both of these saved my life.
Bless you two dear lovely people.
From your new subscriber binge watching your channel.

This might be my favorite that I've seen you do. It's got all the colors that I love. I'm also really impressed with how you cut and pasted your wonderful decopauge papers to build the peacocks and other design elements. Wish I was in Ireland and could purchase this for myself!! Thanks for the beauty you bring into the world! ❤

Love it! Creativity from a bottomless pit of inspiration and design. I believe what you demonstrated so eloquently is DaVinci's "Golden Ratio." Never too long. Sometimes I watch your videos twice because it's so darn brilliant! Feel better. 😊

Thank You for another power packed video and stunning creation! You teach and demonstrate so many techniques and products. If I lived in Scotland, I would buy all your furniture artwork! And I would have Marty be the music DJ at every dinner party!

Luscious background color! Those birds...using different patterns from the decoupage paper makes them so lovely...lots of movement. Love those handles! Sorry you don't feel well... Thank you so much for being there for us each week.

Lel... I don't know how you outdo yourself each and every week! Piecing the decoupage paper into an original design WOW! I really want to try that. Again, I so appreciate your instruction. ❤

If I bought that I would do an entire room just to compliment that masterpiece. LOVE the coral and pinks as the background. It is very tropical and Indie. But I can see it in my cottage style home in several rooms. Bravo to you both, You are a joy to watch and I like long videos. It's my time to block the outside world and just dream about having that piece.

Thank goodness for Sunday mornings with Made by Marley! At first glance when you quickly displayed this finished piece I thought the birds were from a new decoupage paper, or one I had missed seeing. It was absolutely brilliant to create those peacocks with a patchwork of your paper. It would never have occurred to me to use your papers this way. I feel quite humbled that I didn't think 'out of the box' myself... I suppose I'm just not that creative a creator, but I'm learning thanks to you. Outstanding piece of furniture that anyone would adore owning and cherishing. This whole video was so uplifting, as usual, it made my Sunday sing. With Love, Sydni ~Post Script: Just noticed the collaged artwork of a head displayed on top of this piece. (Are you always working?) Perfect addition to staging this piece of art.

This is incredible! I love the colors and the patterns and how it all goes together with a mix of decoupage. So, so very creative. I must give this a go sometime. Such great ideas. xo I sure hope you feel better, it looks like you have a sore throat (watching you swallow). Hugs, ginger tea, lemon & basil. (The hugs don't go in the tea, those are from Marty; the rest goes in the tea.) xo
