Thanks for watching! What are some great games you've played or want to play on the Steam Deck?

I agree with most of the games on this list as a must have. Also giving us details on the right settings for the games to run smoothly and provide plot and gameplay commentary is just top notch. Thank you

One thing to note about the witcher 3 is that it recently got next gen update, which tanked the performance and the improvements are barely worth it on a small screen. Luckily in steam you can go to game properties -> betas and select "classic" version of the game. It runs at a mix of high and ultra settings (hairworks off) at a locked 40 FPS and is probably the most beautiful looking game on the deck.

Loved the recommendations. Mad Max is such a great game. It's really good to see it running at 60fps on the Steam Deck.

I can also recommend Batman Arkham series, Bioshock series, Half life series, Dead Cells, Metal Gear Solid 5 or Shadow of Mordor. So many good games just waiting for you on steam deck!

I'm glad the Yakuza saga is slowy getting to new people. Is a refreshing game not only gameplay-wise but also on its approach to story-telling. Great vid Midas!

I would also add Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon Quest 11, both of the Octopath Travelers, Stray and Fallen Order to the list as they all run fine on the deck with standard settings and are great games to play portable. Lately I have been bouncing back and forth between Octopath Traveler 2 and Hogwarts Legacy depending on my mood.

I think it's great you included CIV VI in your list. It easily has one of the highest played time in my library but I haven't tried it out on the deck yet. I will need to download it!

i think for future videos you should only have one entry per game franchise in the video. No need for 4 Assasins Creed games and 2 Spiderman games to be on the list, those slots could be dedicated to other games imo

Capping a games frame rate to 30 fps will be better for most triple a games and really be the smoothest experience playing with a unstable fps vs a stable will generally feel better and provide the best experience plus you can boost the games graphics as well. It may not at first if you're used to higher frame rates but once a your eyes adjust you'll see a difference in the "feel".

Hey, really random. I see you have a different shell on your unit. But is that a case wrapped around your Deck?

Thanks

Great video glad I got recommended this I'm gonna watch your other vids

at 8:30 or so though you say you get a stable 40 at the same time you're dropping frames lol. NBD but goes to show how different people are sensitive to different things.

Imagine a world though where we can install a VRR capable screen. Now when you're getting 40 you're getting 40, and the small dips into the 30s are hardly noticable. I think that is going to be a game changer, even if it's only on external screens for the time being
