The geopolitics of Eurasia - USA, Russia and China

According to geopolitical experts, the war in Ukraine is attributed to the geopolitics in Eurasia and the main players competing over the region are the United States, Russia and China. But what is the Eurasian project and why is it important for the countries seeking to gain a superpower status?

The content of this video is from a lecture by Dr. Jamal Wakim, Professor of History and International Relations and expert in geopolitics.

Unfortunately your analysis is absolutely correct, as usual. Thank you for breaking it down in such simple terms.

This analysis overlays with the theme of the book The Grand Chessboard by Zbigniew Brzezinski former US National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter who set up the Afghanistan mujahideen debacle.
My feeling is that Russia will be fairly successful in their goals and Europe will face both economic and also terror related blowback from handing criminals javelins.
On the economic side, the US made a bad decision to sanction Russia, this will cause the whole tribute architecture of the empire to collapse. The petro dollar is a delicate system and weaponising it against big countries will cause a domino effect onto other delicately balanced dollar-backed financial instruments. Its a house of cards and the current brutes cannot keep it going

Your analysis is quite good. Add to. It the One Belt One Road trade initiative tied to the conflicts mentioned and the great economic reset by the World Economic Forum cabal.

Shale gas has been profitable until now in America. The low hanging fruit have been picked. The rest of the fields are not large enough or profitable enough. The LNG terminals in Europe are unable to process any increase in gas. I don't think this source of gas will be a short term solution.

Thank you for doing what no one else has done: explain the very root, selfpreservation reason behind the USA's political interference in, and aggression/wars towards, Eurasian countries.

The counterpoint that I have often heard to greater Russian Chinese co-operation is that "China can't be trusted" and it will steal Siberia. Or something to that effect. I have never found that to be convincing. Greater co-operation will benefit both players and they both know it.

India +Pakistan +Bangladesh =brother and sister.
All Africans are brothers and family
All Latinos are brothers and SISTERS.
ALL ASIANS ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS etc etc etc.
All humanity are brothers and sisters.
The era of divide and rule /conquer IS OVER.
ALL HUMANITY MUST BE UNIFIED AND UNITED. MUST SHARE AND ENJOY ALL GOD'S WEALTH AND EARTH TOGETHER. WE ALL BELONG TO ONE CREATOR, OUR ONLY GOD AND LORD AND CREATOR. WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS. GIVE UP FIGHTING. ABOLISH WARS. MAKE PEACE AND HAPPINESS. NO NEED FOR BORDERS, VISAS, PASSPORTS. WE MUST TRULY, ACTUALLY AND REALLY BE FREE.

Clarification at 6'10s, ref. UK's support of 19th Century Ottoman Empire as a buffer zone, esp. in parts of Iran and Afghanistan: Iran and Afghanistan were never in the Ottoman Empire, though of course Ottomans exerted influence through diplomacy with both and also, border wars with Iran, as well as other Nations bordering, or within Russian Influence.

I do not understand the argument that Russia is cut off from the Black Sea if it does not occupy southern Ukraine. The entire Caucus coast of the Black Sea, from Crimea to Georgia is Russian occupied.

1. Please make me understand why China may lose US market in a possible partnership with Russia. Nowadays the chinese exports are insignificant in Russia comparing to those in US (their biggest market).
2. Why do you say that neo-nazis are ruling in Ukraine since 2014?
Being anti Russia but pro EU from a political point of view is not making you a neo-n by default.
3. What do you think about eastern part of Ukraine, the region with the biggest nuclear power plants in the country? Also the eastern region is full of oil and gas. It may be that Russia want the region and in the future to have half of Ukraine in EU and the other annexed by Russia?

I believe your prediction regarding Russia is incorrect. You believe that in the long run Russia may integrate its economy with China and India. But there is no long run for Russia in its present form. Russia's economy will not be able to handle the short run for the following reasons:

1. It's economy is very oil and gas exports dependent. It's currently selling its oil at a great discount and the exports are being reduced due to sanctions. Russia's oil can more easily be replaced by other countries. With gas it's a different situation, but Russia has already signed long term contracts with Europe that are far cheaper than the current price. Cutting Europe off from this gas is a bluff - you can't simply turn off the flow of gas like tap water.

2. The sanctions on Russia are huge. Combined with the extended war with Ukraine (which are not going well for Russia), this causes enourmous pressure on Russia. The country becomes economically and militarily defenceless.

3. Regional players will take advantage of Russia's vulnerability: Poland, Turkey, the Taliban, Japan, etc.

Hence, my prediction is that Russia will collapse this year and cede its regional weight to Poland, Turkey, China, and Japan. And the US of course.

Very god information, but incomplete concerning Russia's stance toward a unified Eurasia since 1990. Fact that Putin asked to join NATO, underlining hopes sentiments held widely in Russian peoples, needs to be taken into account, as well as western response

so:when Soviet Russia had 'influence' in the MiddleEast or had the warsaw union affronting the nato in Western Europe, it was not aggressive, it didnot attack the USA, nor Canada nor even Alaska or Mexico, nor undermined it with minority unrest (workers'strike?) .
When Russia uses its natural connections in Eurasia, USA is constantly undermining it at home and its neighbours and allies, the goal to dismantle co-operation and states. The horrific Jugoslavia treatment is a proof of barbaric mentality, one of many.
This is such an unbalanced tale. Some wish to develop and let live, the other to destroy for the spoil.
More of the same, let's plan or guess??
EU 's 'civilisation' goes down the drain everyday more usamericanised. Barbaria/ Eastern civilisations?
