How to Become Religious?

Just remember the golden rule: "Don't be harsh."

It's easy to get passionate (gheerah) about our deen, but remember that gentleness and kindness are the keys to effective da'wah.

Harshness can create barriers, distance, and misunderstandings. It can make people defensive and closed off to the message we want to convey.

We should never bias our approach based on appearances or assumptions. Instead, let's invite with wisdom, empathy, and understanding.

On the other hand, gentleness and kindness have the power to beautify everything, especially when it comes to matters of religion.

When we approach people with a soft heart and a friendly demeanor, our message will likely be received with an open mind.

Think about it: would you be more willing to listen to someone who speaks to you kindly or someone who comes across as harsh and judgmental?

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the embodiment of gentleness in da'wah. He approached people with wisdom, patience, and empathy.

He understood that it's not about winning arguments but about winning hearts.

His character and conduct attracted people to Islam.

By the end of the day, da’wah is an invitation.

In this video, Pungky and Best ran into a heated argument about religiosity before they finally resolved the problem and became better Muslims. How they resolve this?

Another lovely animation!

What I like about this episode in particular is that it implies this is the first time Pungky met Best because neither recognize each other.

This episode also implies this is the time Pungky became Muslim (or at least the earliest time he took Islam more seriously). Notice how nervous he is to pray and how he doesn't know much about Islam based on the book Best gave him, as if this is his first time in the masjid.

Due to Best being a better Muslim, this invited Pungky to Islam. That is dawah through example.

Despite the show being named after Best, I think the the real main character is Pungky. He is the character which changes and grows the most.
