If I decide to back it, I would do the same as you. I don’t see the this as a miniatures game for the look or game play.

Got Yellow and Yangtze already so gonna pass on it. Standard looks ok but if it was a deluxe version it should have different miniatures from that period with different characters like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, famous generals and advisors maybe then it would be worth it.

Omg the wonderland's war shipping saga..yeah that was the biggest load of bs I've ever heard. He admitted that he avoided shippers related to board games because fun again decided to shut down.
