So it's a brick pond. Usually, lightweight blocks are used. Your pond is an unusual type. It is wonderful.

Thanks Tim, at last someone has explained the gravity fed system in layman's terms. Your videos are spot on and I always look forward to the next one. Trying to build up the courage to build my own pond and your videos are great inspiration.

Hi Tim.
The build is coming on well.
I agree, it is easy setting up a Pump and Filtration.
I did a Pond Restoration for a Gentleman who was not prepared to go down the financial rout of Concrete and Nexus so I built a DIY Filter and a DIY Skimmer for him.
Best result of it is he likes the Tap that I installed for Draining the Pond for Water changes.
His Pump is a 30, 500LPH.
So I am sure that with your professional Skills your Client will be pleased with the final result. 👍😊
Stay safe and take care.

I'm taking on the challenge of building a pond (I'm down in Essex) I'm doing it all myself and I'm going. The bottom drain and nexus route after watching your videos. I haven't a clue before watching your videos and have noticed every pond is different so far no one way seems to be right or wrong. One thing I was planning was just one return via a waterfall. I notice a lot of the pond have 2, 3 or even 4 returns. I hadn't really thought about this until just now. But I assume the more returns the more the water moves and the more crud we suck suck out the bottom drain???.

Hey Tim What thickness was the base slab and did you re-enforce it with re-bar, also did you put the 4 inch bottom drain pipe down in a channel below the concrete base to make sure consistent thickness of the slab?

Looking good Tim - what’s the dimensions of the pond?

Gravity fed filtration is the way to go, if you've installed a bottom drain, you'll be glad you did & if you haven't, you'll wish you had.😉

Wow. How original. I have never seen a design like that. Where do you get your creativity and inspiration from?
