What about Electron - it is multi-platform for Desktop Apps creation

is this along the lines of Adobe XD (Project Comet), or does this generate code like a wysiwyg?

It seems that all of these prototyping apps use an artboard system...but this would be impractical for the application that I'm designing (think photoshop meets pro tools) and it has one screen with many many many small panels. For me to make an artboard to represent every possible state I would need literally hundreds and hundreds of artboards...so is there any prototyping app that uses a panel (overlay) system instead? The idea would be that I have one artboard that I can animate panels in an overlay fashion into the artboard view. I could then animate overlays on top of the overlays and create complex professional desktop application interactions...does anybody know if something like this exists? And preferably if it interfaces with sketch :-)
