Very sad story. Steve died only a few days after filming this. He was in a car crash, was transported back home, died on the operating table at St Marys Hospital in Paddington of heart failure. Nobody could hold a crowd like him - he was great on the radio but was The Master if you saw him live. RIP Steve :(

I went to school with Steve, great friend and a really nice very young man, many years later he was in Norfolk for a Gig and a RR pulled into my mums driveway, from the back came Steve, he took the time to visit my mum, A few years later he was on in GT Yarmouth, Steve was banging out tunes and recognised me in the crowd, music stopped, needless to say we had a very enjoyable night, and meal, drinks after, that went on to the morning of the next day . It was the last time I saw him. RIP Big Man

On 29 June 1988, Walsh was injured in a car crash in Ibiza, where he was filming this music video. He returned to London where he underwent surgery on his broken leg, and died of heart failure on 3 July following the surgery, leaving a wife and three children.
