Kathleen Edwards: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Показать описание
Edwards isn't a flashy singer-songwriter, but her music sticks: Easygoing and accessible, it burrows in deep and then stays put. In the NPR Music offices, she sings four sweet, warm, relatable songs that soothe as they nourish.

Set List:

"Chameleon/Comedian"
"House Full Of Empty Rooms"
"Sidecar"
"Change The Sheets"

That first album, Failer, was the soundtrack of 2003 for me

Incomparable singer songwriter. One of Canada's national treasures. Thoughtful poetry often camouflaged by the accessibility of the music. Thank you.

Kathleen is one of those rare artists that (I believe) sounds even better live than she does on record. Her performance is heartfelt and true. If you like her stuff - be sure and see her live! Thanks SO much for sharing this! :)

Months can go by, yet I still get drawn back to this performance, as well the songwriting presented. It continues to be one of my very favorite Tiny Desk Concerts.

Kathleen opened the show ( I forget the year ) for John Prine in Salt Lake City . When a legend like John likes your music, no other endorsement is required . A side note - I was going thru a box of stored CDs and found the signed CD of hers that my daughter bought at that show . Good memories .

Kathleen is one of Canada's best singer/songwriters, hands down.

beautiful Kathleen. A true canadian jewel. If I'm not mistaken the very talented Hannah Georgas is singing backup for her. A match made in heaven.

Man, a friend introduced me to Voyageur when it came out and I loved the album. I never watched any live performances and haven’t returned to Kathleen’s music in many year but seeing this performance made me realize what the songs meant to me, a great deal more than I thought. Hope to see you live soon in CA Kat!

Stumbled across her while watching "A Skiier's Journey". Was so glad they did a Tiny Desk for her, she's amazing. Also props for the Tito's Vodka, gotta love Austin.

Have seen Kathleen at 9th Ward (Buffalo) and last week at Geneva, NY and even my wife can't get Kathleen's music out of her head a week later. Can't wait for more.

Last year, visiting my sons in Hanoi, I spent a lovely evening listening to some lovely music . This was the highlight . So thankful for this wonderful artist and the trio for playing so beautifully

Kathleen Edwards is the real deal. So glad she is doing some shows again, and can only pray for a new recording and maybe a future tour!

That's right, Hannah has been opening for Kathleen on tour this year and also singing backup. What a treat! I caught their performance in Victoria. Even after coming down off the high of watch the performance I still feel it was the best concert I've seen. Her whole band is fantastic (Gord Tough, who you see here, does fantastic solos, and Jim Bryson on keyboards and sometimes lead bass would take us all into some other realm once he started pogo-ing).

Even when she sings about a sad theme it makes me smile. Just a great song writer who isn't afraid to break with convention.
