My own rule is that I think to myself this whenever I see one of these ads
Ads cost money, so you’d only post an ad if it pays off. Now if what you’re advertising is 100% free and there’s no shady business involved, why advertise it? If you don’t get any money off of it it’s pointless to spend money on advertising it
