Cousin of Bashar al Assad says his family 'were against him taking over'

Ribal al Assad, first cousin of former Syrian president Bashar al Assad, has told Sky News that the family were "against him taking over", but say "if the whole world wants him, what can we do?"

Ribal says he only met his cousin once and that they "had an argument", and "a couple of months later they tried to assassinate me".

He also denies allegations his father was involved in the massacres in 1982.
