The dawn of the decade! Some of the cards look like they're from Dawn of the Dead instead. 1970-71 Topps basketball has all the gore in full blown technocolor. If you like short short then we like short shorts.

Thank you for the shout out. I work in Pistal Pete's home town (Aliquippa) pa and at one point with his cousin. This is my favorite basketball set from the 70s. Great info as always.

Great episode covering the 1970-71 NBA + ABA season. Starts w/ league facts and then John dives into the Topps cards. ( 23:23 )

Highly recommended video before starting the set (which I intend to do). Many nuggets also thrown in (hard to miss as John does his homework prior to making videos).

FYI… The Barbie Movie came out 18 months after this video. Brian Goslin’s “Ken” character must have been inspired by the Rick Adelman & Don Kojis cards. 36:47 . Check it out for yourself. John even mentioned Don was ready for picture day plus both he & Rick were “dreamy”.

Also love the dog / bacon and Pink Power Ranger references. 38:59 Poor Toby Kimball (the mouth breather) looks like a combo of Goonies Sloth & Jason Voorhees w/o the hockey mask .
