Fun fact, if you give an opponent your land that just entered the battlefield with zedruu the greathearted before the trigger resolves, they take the two damage instead of you.

Great play. I did this same play over 20+ years ago going sol ring, Ankh in a four player game. The best is when you Armageddon later with mana elf's in play

Back in the day, in a very early tournament, before DIC or Mana ranking, before Elder Dragon Legend, the game type that became commander, my opening play was . . .

I drop a swamp.

Tap for 1 Black.

Cast Dark Ritual, use one of that Black to cast a second Dark Ritual having 5 Black mana floating.

Cast Black Vice, cast Black Vice, Cast Black Vice, cast Ankh of Mishra.

Pass turn.
