Wow. Flashing the dialog on the screen really maximizes the cringe.

This dialog was written by someone who literally farts into a wine glass and huffs it. You can’t convince me otherwise.

This show almost feels like it’s made as a parody to mock how bad Hollywood has gotten

Isn't it a violation of the Geneva convention to torture those poor metaphors like that?
This is insufferable....

I remember trying to watching the first episode of S1 and then turning it off in the first few minutes. Rings of Power is truly one of the shows ever.

Your “fucking bollocks” could eclipse the Critical Drinker’s “Go away now!”

Look at the quality of this writing and these writers have the audacity to go on a strike.

Most of what the characters say in the show is mindless shit...

The quotes are so awful that they gave the urge to throw myself in a well, even if I have to dig the well first.

The rings of power is like a gently glistering rod of radioactive Uranium.

From the distance of sight it glows like a pretty firefly in a fuliginous cavern, and one may remember the costliness of its forging, yet come close, and the true sickening influence of its grim confluence shall make itself felt.

Face it, entertainment is dead until this generation of 'writers' is retired.

It’s interesting that the reviewers are no longer focusing on deviations from the source material. The show is so, so, so, far off that it’s not even worthwhile mentioning that. (In this example the 3 Elven rings were never sullied by Sauron. They were never a corrupting influence. The elves made them to help them focus their energies on preserving their realms in Middle Earth)
Now the critics have moved on to just evaluating the show on a standalone basis and it is still total crap! Theee guys are trying to write original fantasy set in Tolkien’s universe and are learning very rapidly, much to our collective misery, that fantasy writing is a serious genre and is hard.

These dialogue quotes are absolutely amazing. These are the writers the most expensive show around employs.

They REDO 'Sauron on a raft at sea'? They are just taking the piss at this point.

ChatGPT has more personality and authenticity than the writers for this show.

They present Sauron as a sympathetic "bad boy" character from "Twilight" that is wavering between good and evil (and might have PTSD) whereas, by this time in the saga, he is irredeemably and happily evil. The model for Sauron should be a master villain, manipulating others like chess pieces from behind the scenes, like Francis Urquhart from the British version of 'House of Cards', or Emperor Palpatine from the Prequels or Tywin Lannister from 'Game of Thrones'. If you wanted to do a conflicted Sauron, you would have to go way back to his corruption by Morgoth, or do Morgoth himself (why not?) which could have been a Twilight of the Gods or even a 'Clash of The Titans' kind of thing.

Adar is superfluous, but if you must have him, he could have been trying to subvert Sauron to gain power himself as a side plot (like GoT), but he would not be able to outwit the master manipulator.
