Very nice kit!! Adding a pair of Movilens glasses ( credit card size) with the same magnification of the main glasses, it can be a backup for the loss of the complete equipment, even the glasses

I really love this product!!! I would also recommend from SOL the Phoenix by SOL! It comes with a knife and a fire steel rod and flashlight, along with some tinder quicks!! Together I think both of these products make a great survival kit!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've added a few first aid pieces to mine. Only thing I don't like about the kit. Is the flashlight on the knife while it is in its place in the kit can be accidentally turned on while its in your pocket or pack. So what I've done was to cut a small piece of old discount/hotel key card and slip it in between the light switch and the sides of the case. It keeps the switch from accidentally being hit and turned on. Also I use a large ranger band around the circumference of the entire unit to help with a little more waterproofing. I usually wear a multi pocket vest when I go out. I find that vest are perfect for carrying my EDC stuff with me. One of my vest has 21 pockets ( of course I never fill them all ), I use it for flying because it's like having an extra carry-on bag. I fill it with snacks and other things and just take it off, put it in the basket, run it through the x-ray machine and then put it back on.
You could easily keep a small survival kit in a vest pocket, as well as some other important items. Vest also help to cover your concealed carry.

This looks like a pretty solid, pre-made survival kit, with a lot of clever thought given to its packaging and design. It's essentially the old British survival tin, brought up to date.

I could easily see myself throwing this into a pocket in my EDC bag/bookbag, if I have to prepare for an outdoor jaunt in a hurry.

Thanks for the review! I like the signal mirror, and the fact that it is watertight and floats makes me want to add more fire starters! I would also do the water purification tablets, as you suggested, and a water bag. Best wishes!

I’m a big fan of building my own kits and customizing them to your individual needs, but I love the SOL kits as backups. I’ve been a die hard fan of the Survival Medic kit of theirs, but always been curious about the hard case versions.

I would add a medium sized ziplock bag with a couple of water purification tablets and also a spool of waxed dental floss (plain, not mint tasting) . A small bit of electrical tape on the back of the compass, may make it tight enough that it doesn't fall out easily

Good video and a sweet kit with pretty nice items for the price. I would like to see the compass mounted the other way, meaning the compass face towards the case, just to protect the face from getting scratched up.



That happened to me in a small tin kit I always had in my pocket. It was still usable, but just scratched up. Now I put clear tape on the face of my new ones to protect them.



You should do another video with your tweaks and added items it to make it meet your needs. Keep up the great work.

The value of these kits are a couple of points you touched on. First, the initial step in anyone's prepping/survival journey is simply recognizing the need to be ready. A kit like this gives the novice some measure of capability with one single purchase. Second, is the issue of redundancy. Definitely build your own custom kit when you become knowledgeable enough to know what you need. But two is one and one is none. Even after you outgrow a kit like this, having it as a backup could be the difference between life and death in a desperate situation when plan A goes to h*ll in a hand basket.

Nice review I think l will pick one or 2 up. I like the idea of putting in a cargo pocket and using a tether to keep it on your person so it's always with you
