Oh my God, thank you! I've wanted to do a Weird Al-esque parody of "Sabotage" using "cabotage" ever since learning about the doctrine of cabotage 23 years ago in the context of airline regulation (cabotage is restricted for air carriers under the 1944 Chicago Convention) and now my dream has come true!

I used to work as a musician on a foreign flagged cruise ship with a Hawaiian itinerary. Instead of just flying to Hawaii, boarding the ship there and taking a leisurely cruise from island to island like a handful of US flagged ships, passengers had to leave out of Los Angeles and make a stop in Ensenada, Mexico on the way. It takes around 5 days to sail from LA to Hawaii and about another 5 days to sail back. That's around 10 days that tourists are spending money on a foreign flagged ship (and in Mexico) and not in the US. I guess Uncle Sam wants to protect Hawaiians from tourist dollars. Great video from Remy as usual and as a musician, I have to say that I really appreciate his talent as a vocalist!
