"reigning sluts of the abyss" is a wild statement

The "passing grade in a women studies class" is seeing the difficulty of birthing something with horns

Heard interbreeding as inbreeding and got very confused for a solid second.

Technically if one side is a demon, then it's an Abyssal Bloodline. Infernal Bloodline is for devils. Devils and Demons are two VERY different things in D&D

I like how Tieflings work in pathfinder, its a hertiage. which means it doesn't effect your race directly, but does change your look, so you would be half dwarfen tiefling, or half halfing tiefling etc

"an elf from World of Warcraft but with horns." You just described a demon hunter lol

Fey'ri probably has to be one of my new favorite demonic heritage now.

The thing about Fey'ri that I enjoy is how heavily censored their existence is in elven society - we got a look at one in Shadows of Undrentide and you can instantly start a fight by clocking that she's not a normal elf.

Yeah, but you can also become a tiefling by being cursed. Theoretically, the most common form of tiefling is made by your classic cursed bloodline shenanigans- it doesn't matter who you boogie with, the wheel always lands on tiefling.

Demons are putrid chaos
Abyssal
Devils are Ruthless Law
Infernal

And they despise each other!

When introduced in Second Edition, tieflings were described as plane-touched, distant relatives of a union between a human and a fiend... Not just internals.

Basically. Originally you could have a tiefling that was a product of Rakshasa pact/union.

Was more fun when the ttrpg didn't make them all look like space goats from WoW.

Drow have Draegloth, look a bit like four armed were wolves. Half-fiend with a Glabrezu parent. Conceived in a ritual dedicated to Lolth with a priestess as their mother.

Back in the day Succubus were tanari, now they are just "fiend" hence most people descended from fiends were related to tanari.

The "infernal" bit of the heritage happened around 4e, after Asmodeus ascended to Godhood, he "adopted" all tieflings as his bloodline. Recent books started ignoring that, however, but that is why tieflings are strictly infernal in early 5e.

Last fun fact; fey'ri also had wings.

I just love your explanation of a Tanarukk.

There's also Tieflings born from the Pit, or Baator. The devils (Baatazu, Lawful Evil) are much more organized and insidious. The most common partner to bear Pit-tainted your are Erinyes. Also, unlike internal-born, those Tieflings bron from the Pit tend to be raised by one parent or the other.

Mae'Luth are the Dwarf equivalent, but they basically haven't been seen since 3.0E. But they did bring in Durzagon, which are Planetouched Dark Dwarves.

Tanari = less sadistic Slaanesh. Got it.

We have a Tiefling barbarian in our campaign who has giant blood: she's stands a full 2 feet taller than the rest of the party. And she can fly. Gotta love it
