Amazing he could always deliver, keeping the memory of the lyrics in such a state. it makes him grand and showing he belongs to an other dimension

I see lots of comments about how wasted Shane is and how he couldn't get through the song properly...but now he's passed on, and none of that matters a damn. He was a big boy who could do what he wanted, if that's who he was then I loved him for it then and I love him for it now.

Sad to see Shane in this state, one of the most iconic singer songwriters of a generation. I first saw The Pogues in the early 80's. OK this video isn't The Pogues, but the is how we all know and love the man. The last time I saw Shane live was 2012 and he looked and sounded OK considering his demons and health. In that 20 years I must have seen them more than two dozen times, including when the late great Joe Stummer fronted the band and a stint by Spider Stacy, but The Pogues needed MaGowan.

Many thanks for uploading ! I was wondering if there was a full recording of this one. God bless from Irish Rover.

After the gig Shane apparently said “do you think anyone noticed I was a bit pissed?”

It's at this point that you know that something more profound, more tragic and desperate is happening with the guy at the mic. He's gone way beyond having a good time and getting wasted with the band... There's lonely, sad drunkenness, and the guy so desperately needed someone, anyone to just say ...stop. 'Stop, Shane, and I'll help you.' Those words could have changed his life forever, but he never seemed to ever hear them. May we all learn something about alcoholism, Shane, and ourselves from watching this mans desperation in public that he lived for so many years. Rest in Peace dear beautiful Shane. We will miss you forever and a day.

So sad. Shane is a musical genius and it hurts to see him like this. The band was great as usual and carried on like real pros.

I was there really pumped to see Shane! Well, I saw him! Sadly he collapsed on stage, a hard day for me and my friends who were/are big Pogues fans.

Say what you want about Shane but %95 of the time he was totally professional on stage. He would intentionally wait for the encores to indulge in what have you….So the night before Shane bought some Dutch hash cakes but woke soo hungry he ate the whole thing and didn’t know where he was but only n waves. He said he’d never had something put him in outer space slumber soo hard before. He said he kept getting paranoid about forgetting his own lyrics. That he just wanted off that stage and go home. Instead of all those faces looking up at him. Shane loved weed his entire life and always hade the strongest dope I’ve ever had so this had to be really powerful. Dutch stuff. Love you and miss you comrade Shane OHooligan

It's like a man who's on the edge of death here, but he's still alive 25 years later. If he died shortly after this, this would have millions of views
