Valve's next major video game is called DEADLOCK, which is just a new name for Neon Prime, the game we've been speculating about for years.

Once called Citadel, this third-person shooter, MOBA, team-based, class-based, tower defense shooter game is set to showcase Valve's abilities to experiment in the established space of the major competitive games of the day.

Valve News Network (VNN) is now Tyler McVicker.

What do you think this will end up being? Are you looking forward to trying this out?

"A class based shooter with personality"
TF2 withered down to a skeleton and glaring at them.

I still remember the days back when we thought this game was a Combine VS Rebels FPS/RTS hybrid. Wish it was that.

I am gonna consider this as a "gas leak" until the game is downloaded into my computer, cannot trust any sort of resources when it comes to valve games

extended HL universe/Combine lore sounded so much cooler than what this is

Deadlock is how I would describe Valve's ability to make new games

I never thought I'd feel so apathetic about a new valve game.

I really hate how Valve just follow trends like card games and hero shooters. Valve WAS the trendsetter and not the trend follower. I wish they still did cool singleplayer games.

I think they made a mistake ditching the Sci-fi half life lore stuff but still hyped for new valve content anyway

>Generic dota-like fantasy style
>Third person hero game
>MOBA elements
>Competitive

It's never been more over

The way you described Neon Prime, being that it was sort of Valve uniting all of their fanbases under one game, is exactly how felt about it before. And as a Half-Life fan, those HL and general SiFi elements were what was really selling me about the game. But it seems they have kept everything BUT that, so I cannot lie I do feel super disappointed. But if it still has that signature Valve charm present in all of their “core” projects, then I’m sure there will still be something for me to enjoy about the game. I’ll definitely give it a shot at least

Combining the gameplay of TF2, CS and DOTA2 in the same game is like mixing ice cream, a steak, and a bowl of guacamole in a blender.

Wake me up when Valve releases another narrative-driven singleplayer game.

You know, the stuff that made them.

Remember: Valve of 2024 is not the same Valve of 2007.
The old guard left a long time ago.
