As an Asian, there is a pressure for Asians to do well in school and go to college because Asians in general are taught to think generationally. We are taught not just to think only of ourselves but the future of the generations after us. Ie my grandmother didn't go to school when she was in China because of the culture at the time. My grandfather passed away early, my grandmother never remarried and had to make a living for herself by cooking snacks to sell. My father and aunt didn't finish college because of world war 2 and poverty. they worked hard to ensure that we get a better education than they did and we are expected to do the same so the next generation can have a better life. We also think in terms of honor and shame. We bring honor to our family, community and culture by being model students. Anything less is seen as shameful. It has nothing to do with our race or how we are treated by others.

I agree. I am white, and have worked my ass off through life. No one has given me a thing, and my parents literally went to school without shoes. As a white, if you’re equally qualified or even better than a minority for a position, there’s no assurance that you’ll get the job just because of your color. What sucks is that it’s perfectly legal, and is encouraged under the Equal Opportunity Act to hire the minority. Minorities will say that it’s because I was privileged to have a good education. It’s true, but it’s because I had parents who encouraged and supported me to get an education. You can take the best teachers from one school district where kids do extremely well, and have them teach in another school district and the kids will do horrible. It comes down to good parenting, and whites are being punished for having more stable households than many inner city minority kids.

I was homeless for three years but I made a choice to work extremely hard so I can come out of that situation. My race has nothing to do with my work ethic, I made that positive change in my life.

Notice how she kept looking at someone else during the exchange. It was clearly not her asking these questions. She was asking questions for someone else. I would guess it was one of her professors or TAs who would lose face if humiliated by Charlie. So instead of losing their own reputations, they send in their useful idiots to fight for them.

Look at her face when she looked over to her friends. She is SICK of all the lies. She wants her mind and heart back.

Poor little dunce kids think they are so smart in their enlightened study group until they meet someone who has actual life experience and has thought the issue through completely. Then they attempt to make what they think is some 'gotcha' point and get obliterated publicly with logic and reason. A quick glance over to their social group implores "HELP ME" as they realize their argument has just been destroyed.
