Christians, Please Stop Doing This

I have to share. When I was a new believer a lady, who at the time I respected, she was pretty normal, not weird. She told me That God told her I was suppose to marry a specific person. She told him too. Total forced relationship, and really messed me up. It lasted only 3 months before we realized it was not from God. She never apologized she kept saying it was not time yet. Needless to say
I left that congregation. But since then I became very skeptical of women (and men) telling me that God spoke to the about something specific. My mother in law too, is also really in to claiming God told her. Totally drives me crazy. Sometimes she right on, other times.... yeah.

you know what i REALLY want christians to stop doing? dismissing people's struggles (particularly mental illnesses and esp depression and anxiety) with "just let God handle it" or "just pray" or "if you knew Jesus you'd be happy". this is not at all how we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. if someone needs a friend to lean on in times of struggle, WE ARE IN FACT CALLED TO BE THAT FRIEND. christians are the hands and feet of Jesus, we are who the holy spirit works through, he uses us to be Jesus to others and we cannot be Jesus to our neighbors if we say these things. i came back to this comment section bc i just watched another video and one of the comments mentioned this instance happening, and as it has also happened to me too, i felt like this belonged here: Things christians need to stop doing. it is clearly more prevalent than i thought it was, because i hadn't even heard anyone else have this experience before. and i just wish it didn't happen at all.
how in the world are we supposed to be Jesus to our neighbor's if we just tell them "idk go talk to Jesus" like BRO they're tryinnnngggg (insert crying emoji here im not on mobile this time)

One of my biggest issues within the christian community is the infigthing and outright bashing between denominations.
We dont just wage war against the devil, Nowadays, we are also waging war against our fellow christians who dont Interpret the bible exactly the way we do.
The enemy must be enjoying see us so divided amongst each other.
I get that some denominations do have issues and practices that are worth calling out and just outright shady. And some churches outright edit the bible OR do weird traditions .
Theres no denying that.
But please dont go full on hate mode or ridicule them! You have no idea how many dumb memes ive seen on this online .
Be a friend ! Learn and Guide each other. Explain it in an informative way . Tell them whats wrong, LISTEN and understand..etc.
You guys get what i mean, fam?

All of this is so true indeed and I think a lot of those things has actually added to my social anxiety. I was told about being transformed but never about struggling afterwards. Especially as I have been living without the knowledge of being ASD and ADHD. So you can only imagine having meltdowns or, how I used to say, "freaked out for some unknown exact reason that I can't say out loud because I'll sound crazy, " confused me even more. Like, shouldn't I not be doing any of this? What's wrong with me? Am I just damned?

I do wish Christians would stop icing people out for weird reasons. Like, when I'm going through hard times and I'm confused because I'm completely clueless about what's going on or if I have a rule about not going outside after dark. Shockingly, I don't feel as invincible as I used to, we're on a dangerous city and most importantly...I just need a social break. I want to do Bible Study with the church which is I struggled every Sunday to be there early to have them before normal services. Or as usual I do or say something weird. While that's probably every social situation I've been in, I think Christians are the worst offenders. And it might be that I hold them at a higher standard which, I might do with everyone a bit? But especially Christians. I mean, I had been at this church for almost 2 years and the same people came up to me asking if I was new. It gets tiresome. Or because they feel I'm not a real Christian because I don't act or speak like they do, and, I admittedly have trouble verbalizing my thoughts (and in order) so I'm still always alone in my worship at the church. It actually makes me feel really sad and hopeless, for both me and them. I would move closer to the right church even if it was in a tool shed. And how many people have the turned away just as unlovingly?

Is it bad to say I need/expect more? Maybe I'm wrong. I have a migraine now. But what you said makes sense.

Oh how I am loving your channel I love the sassy and sarcastic! 💗 The more Biblical truth you speak the more people will feel convicted and blame you for the guilt in their heart instead of searching their heart. Unfortunately that how it goes especially when the women can’t speak about Christianity guys start finding your stuff... If they are enough of a pain I would just block them. The more popular you get the more of them you will get too. Point 2 is dead on! Christianity isn’t unicorns and butterflies. The whole God said this thing... just look at what the Bible says about false profits that solves a lot of that problem. Exactly about politics and it can turn into idol worship at a certain point if you are so dead set in your political party or candidate! Continue to be bold don’t worry about what others think about you(as a fellow ASD I know this part can be really hard). It’s Gods opinion that matters not the worlds! I saw a video was posted 6 months ago harassing you about your beliefs, I checked out that persons channel and that person literally only has hateful videos he had no good intentions, your voice was attacked not by him I am sure you understand, I am sure you are probably use to it by now your voice your words being ignored. your channel is blessed your are great at explaining these topics and you are bold and strong, I am saying this because its not just you who has and is continuing to be attacked are voices are trying to be choked out, it feels as if from birth, at least for me it feels that way, long story short I am praying for you and your angels, and that the "negative" influences over your life would be sent to the dry places and I rebuke the curses people have been saying over you, no curse will flourish the curses will bounce off and attack the ones who said them over you, You are a child of the God of Elijah, you are a.Daughter of christ a joint heir to the thrown and you have the authority to claim your victories and to speak your beliefs in boldness, you are protects be Jesus Christ's blood that he gave on the cross, the blood conquers all, you are blessed and highly favored, and you are getting closer to God everyday, as he has you in his hand leading and guiding you on what to do and what to say. God didn t give you a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind... I will continue but in my own time just felt like you needed to hear what is above. anyway you are blessed, your work is blessed, and I personally bless you as well which doesn't mean much compared to God but it makes me feel like I did something 😊

i agreee, , , if "God chose" a political party, what that would actually mean is someone in power in that party is using God's name to manipulate people and gain more power 🙂

the two main political parties in america are basically just two different perspectives on how to solve the same problems (in general)
i get rlly frustrated bc i have family mostly on one side and friends on the other and there's always something i disagree with that makes them think im "on the other side" 😕 like no, i just have a more nuanced opinion lol

i never understood "God said..." ... like i never ever had any reason to use that phrase i really don't understand the thought process behind it so it always comes across as sketchy to me lol

There no such thing as perfect saints we all human and makes mistakes. We can learn to make right decisions. There some Christians expect us to be like them I observe them also knowing what works for them might not work for me. We all unique we all have different needs and different abilities. I don’t like politics too much drama. I think politicians job would be the worst job I sooner be cleaning toilets than be a politician 😂

One thing I think happens is that people don't get a clear gospel message they hear that Jesus died for their sin just accept him in your heart and you'll be saved but the real message is repent.
Acts 2:37 Peter shares the truth and commands them to repent period and then you see the beginning of their changed lives.
I think many people don't know what sin really is
but when you hold them up against God's perfect standard the ten commandments they can see where they have fallen short and then they're ready to hear the message of the Gospel which is Christ died to take the punishment that you deserve I deserve he paid the debt that we owed in order to be made right with God.
We are commanded to repent turn from our sin and we're promised suffering.
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
2 Timothy 3:12
12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
2 Cor 1:3, 4
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,  4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

So I'm not sure how effective it would be at changing anyone's mind...
