Nursing Fund for Excellence

The Nursing Fund for Excellence is a fund that provides opportunities for students. It will give them some of the relatable experience maybe in a classroom environment with technology. or events that occur infrequently in the clinical setting but events that come with a lot of risk. Things like a cardiac arrest, suctioning a child through a very small trach. Um, we currently have a mom, a SimMom that delivers babies. She's going to be due for, um, renovation at some point. We just had a major upgrade on her, but parts wear out and they get old, and at some point they can't replace them anymore. It's kind of like a car. So the Fund for Excellence helps with those funds, but it also helps to expand the horizons of students in the classroom setting in other ways. In my pediatric nursing class, I use YouTube videos and it would be really nice if we had those in a more medical formulated type of technology. The other thing that the Funds for Excellence will help with is to possibly expand our testing Abilities It would be nice to replicate it and to give them so that we could provide them with the same types of testing that the State Board is providing them. It would be nice to replicate it and to give them that experience so that they Maintain those high board pass rates that are required for our accreditors in order to receive accreditation.
