We can also be on the piss. Which means we're out to get very drunk. I am going for a piss. (Unrinate) obviously when we are pissed we are very drunk. Or pissed up.

Brits use both your examples.

I think you may have missed a few on the British side.

I am on the piss (getting drunk)
Its on the piss (its wonky)
He was pissed (angry or drunk)
Piss off
Pissed up (drunk)
He pissed off (he left)
I'm pissed off (i am angry)
Piss poor (very bad)

Pissed and piss are not the same word, by a long stretch. And they dont say "i was just taking a piss" they say "i was just having a piss" if you cant pick up on the subtleties of language you probably shouldnt be teaching people about it

Brits say it pissed me off aswell, it's a very old saying over here, we do also say taking the piss as you said.
