There is no way it would take Goku and Raditz as long as in canon to get to King Kai. Goku has a higher power level, therefore he is Stronger and FASTER too. He would most likely be able to run the entire way faster than Raditz could fly there directly. Other than that it’s pretty interesting so far.

I don't know who said Gohan had more potential as a kid but that is bull.
You have to remember that a saiyans growth is determined by 2 things. Training and zenki. When goku was a child he was trained by weak fighters compared to the strong ones Gohan had.

What people don’t understand about Gohan’s potential is that it is calculable and that if Goku had it from birth he would be leaps and bounds higher than his canon counterpart.

Let’s start off from the start Gohan had little to little to no training in early Dragon ball z. He only had a power level of 3 and when he got a rage boost that power level rose to 1, 307. Which is a 435.6x increase from his initial base! His power level after calming down was 710. He was then tossed into the wilderness to fend for himself and received very little training from Piccolo. Mind you Piccolo is no master at teaching as he self taught himself from birth so that speaks for itself. Gohan with super basic knowledge of martial arts managed to get to a power level of 981. And jumped to 2, 800 when attacking Nappa.

On his way to Namek he was able to reach a power level of 1, 800. Then when he got his initial latent power unlocked it jumped to 14, 000 which is a 7.8x increase! Which later rises to 200, 000 which is his full latent power along with a zenkai boost after his fight with the Ginyu force. That’s a 14.3x increase. Then it jumps to 1, 000, 000 because of a rage boost when fighting Frieza. Which is a 5x increase. When trunks arrived his power level was 1, 125, 000 which he probably was a zenkai boost after recovering from fighting Frieza. That’s a small boost of only 1.125x. This is a full year of no training and we know no training means a drop in power level.

If we account the 3 years of prep before the androids arrived Gohan should be relative to 3rd form Frieza but it’s a toss up if he actually trained during those 3 years. Then we get into the cell saga. Where he receives real training from a decent teacher aka Goku, his father. They spend approximately 319 days inside the time chamber which is 10 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days inside. After they exited the time chamber Gohan was above perfected SSJ Goku.
