Every suicide is a tragedy that impacts our families, our loved ones, and our Service. We want to remind you that you are not alone. Every one of us carries personal burdens. Asking for help is a sign of strength and courage!

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and we all have a role to play in supporting each other. Community, collaboration, connection and hope make us stronger as individuals and better as a Service.

If you or someone you know needs support, please call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988. If you feel an individual is in immediate danger of hurting themselves or others, call 911.

As someone that been in boating dispatch or the last 18 years. You are loved. Respected and as a non serviceman whos worked side by side with SAR LA all the way to Miami. Thee best people next to my actual tow boats i have ever worked with. I would call CG out on stuff, they would do the same. We respected the back and forth. I worked the night of a 35 soul dive boat fire. I was so glad to be with my normies that night with LA and asking us for help. Never felt more of a family. Here to talk if anyone needs an ear.

Nice speech too bad it doesn’t hold water. Reached out to the Coast Guard for help put exactly what the problem was showed that the paperwork was correct improved my statement and it was immediately taken down because the Coast Guard doesn’t want to air their dirty laundry. The master chief and the chaplain, both want to tell you all the wonderful things but absolutely refuse to talk about the things that are wrong. Anybody that doesn’t believe me I have over three years worth of paperwork dealing with them in regards to the standard operating procedure prior to 1985 where the Coast Guard Destroyed small boats station records. They were not archived anywhere in any shape or form they were physically destroyed as standard operating procedure. The Coast Guard now the homeland security refuses to acknowledge this and the potential of tens of thousands of Coast Guard men that it affects. It makes it impossible to get a help from the VA because they want your service records to back up your claim. The VA also knows that these records don’t exist have existed for 40+ years they acknowledge that fact that they don’t exist, but they still refuse your claim stating they have to find the records that they know don’t exist. personally wonder face-to-face with the secretary of the VA he promised that he would look into this and that he would resolve this problem that was over four months ago when I reached out to him again he said sorry nothing he could do about it and send me back to the same people that I’ve been dealing with constantly for the past three years on and off for the past 13 years. Again the Coast Guard in the VA they want to be great cheerleaders, but they do not want to address the problems of suicide sexual assault, which is rampant in the Coast Guard and they do not want to address why they physically destroy records that would help a veteran. we’ll see how long this one stays up
