VLOG - BLOG - "Cragside & Whitby" - ep9
Episode 9 - English Heritage anyone ?
Our 2 year wedding anniversary trip to Northumberland and down the east coast, where we visited Cragside and Whitby. We also ate some amazing food, saw some awesome sunsets, camped in our campervan.

We have moved on from the few days visiting the castles and film locations, we were going to visit another castle but we were advised to go and visit Cragside which is the first hydro powered house in the UK back in the day. It was well worth the visit and glad we skipped the castle ruin, we wished we had more time there as there were many walks and other parts to see over the 105 Acres but we had to move on down the road.
We made it down to Whitby now and staying in a campsite not far outside of Whitby. We went down to the beach and we could actually see Whitby Abbey from there.
We had some nice food at the White House Inn and a walk down to the beach. This is only a short walk from the campsite itself.
We have moved down a bit more where we have now visited a few more ruins of various Abbeys and castles, Thornton Abbey's entrance is quite impressive for only being an abbey, it does look more like a castle gate house which is always ready for an attack.
Castle Rising Castle is less impressive and felt more like a small home of a posh prison, which we believe it was at some point.
Norwich Cathedral is well a cathedral and they are always pretty impressive, even for the non religious like us, we really do appreciate the architecture and the history behind them, this is why we are trying to visit all of the 42 within the UK.
