Naveen - You have amazing set of videos on your channel and those who have just gone through the titles and thumbnail of your videos can easily identify where he needs to fix his feet.
You contribution to the testing community is amazing and you are the reason why I stick to the testing profile

Thank you Naveen, it’s something relating to our core values as well. I guess it would be very helpful if we could have a little detailed video on the roadmap for up-skilling. Obviously there is no end to it, but only an experienced person in their specific field can guide us.
Thanks Again 🙏

I definitely agree with you, automation is criticial. I did the opposite-I first learned automation, and then learned manual testing...so I know both know. I know Protractor, Cypress, and Playwright. I also used Postman and SQL and some other manual testing tools. But like I have seen others mention in the comments, the problem I am facing now is that when I have an interview, they don't care if I have over 6 years of automation experience-they want me to solve dev-level coding problems on the spot. No one in my interviews is asking about testing strategies, and oftentimes I've found that people interviewing me don't know much about the testing frameworks themselves (a few were surprised when I told that that I have used Cypress to automatae some of my REST API testing).

There needs to be some kind of shift in the way they interview QA Automation roles....for an SDET, I can understand needed to know more in-depth coding....but as a QA Automator its not really necessary in my opinion and experience. At least this his my experience here in the U.S...

Manual Testing is core work and can not be replaced by any automation tool. Simple thing in any project is that most of the time application is undergoing lot of changes and we require lot of regrioros black of testing. Automation testing comes into picture when we have a stable application and we need to do frequent regression testing for the build.

Dont run after salary package. Do what you like. If automation is something you don't enjoy doing then better dont do. Find something which you like doing.

I watched this excellent video just now. Naveen Sir has rightly highlighted many of the common issues that people with 10+ years of experience in Software Testing with/without automation skills are facing (be it being behind in technology wise or Skills wise). Naveen Sir's 20+ mins video gave a complete picture of what is happening now and what is going to happen if we do not up skill ourselves. We are all somewhere in this loophole going into quagmire of working in the day to day projects (in different positions) and forgetting the art of upskilling ourselves to stay relevant in the near/far future. I personally would like to thank Naveen Sir for this wonderful video. ITs a rude wake up call for all of us to have forgotten the art/skill of upgrading ourselves periodically.

Really well explained as sometime when i say to QA mate we need to have some technical skill they answer that would not help but everything we learn eventually have a benefit.
