I think your description of Bachata is more like Reggaeton. Also there are different types of Bachata. Some are more sensual than others.

This (and the solo dance vid for that matter) could've used a couple of example clips instead of just pics. But just for later: Zouk with S/O, Lindy Hop or West Coast Swing for strangers.

EDIT: Man, I don't think ANY of these fit me. I want something that you can dial the spice level up and down, that isn't tight or stiff (like the steps/gyrations in salsa), that you can speed up or slow down, and when it's fast it's relatively impressive and athletic looking. And yes, something that works rather than extremely planned.

I also want to at least be holding my partner's hand, because there's a big difference between dancing WITH your partner, and dancing NEXT TO your partner, and if you aren't touching in some way, it qualifies as the latter, which is semi-pointless IMO.
