1:55 I love how, here, Dazai's expression changes when he's near the ground. In trash candy, Dazai's expression changes as well, although it looks more as if he was on guard or just reacting out of a stupor, 'what am I doing' or 'shit, I left the stove on!'

But in this animation, it's more like instant, clear regret and fear. Whether it's of pain or anything else. There's this scene in wan where Dazai almost dies of drowning, and he immediately gets up to avoid it, 'I almost died there'. Dazai is most likely searching a reason to die by being near death, as if, he'll get a reason before doing it: ''I'm going to kill myself, but then I'd have to leave Atsushi alone, so I can't.'' or anything of the like.

But if he throws himself from a building, there's no take backs. He'll just fall to his dead and regret everything at the last moment because he truly did not want to die, he wanted a reason to live.

also, i wanted to say: if you're on the lookout for new songs to use for dazai edits, i have some recommendations! human disqualification by Nagisa (this one was literally written about Dazai as in the author), Last Trio by Ayase and though this one isn't vocaloid, perhaps also kurayami shinjuu soushisouai sung by hiroshi kamiya (who voices Ranpo, actually!). either way, i am excited to hear what you use for your next edit as we have the same taste in music!

Мне очень нравится этот уникальный стиль анимации. Я часто прихожу и пересматриваю иногда даже все видео за один присест, ибо это шикарно выглядит и звучит. Здесь какая-то своя атмосфера, состоящая из смеси радости и отчаяния, очень вдохновляющая меня. Можно прочувствовать всю глубину, даже если видео и длится не больше минуты.

No matter how many videos of yours I watch, each time I’m awed at how well and accurately you portray characters through the use of music and editing. Your style is impeccable and art just as alluring, everything fits so well with each other and nothing feels out of place. Each edit tells such a riveting story and yet somehow leads to the same sad ending, yet I can’t help but feel excited and exhilarated when the tone changes and the story becomes much darker, even though it’s predictable, it’s just so well done I can’t help but feel caged by my own interest.
