Great video! I always love seeing things that are extinct or just old things in general. Well put together as well, maybe do some narration! If you ever need some high-quality voice-overs or music let me know!

I don't know why, but the Carolina Parakeet made me saddest.

Last recorded, I suppose would be a better way to say it? Obviously, we don't know if one died out in the woods somewhere, but enough sampling returned no finds of a bird to statistically call them extinct. Since nothing else turned up after that specimen died, it can probably be said that THAT one was the last that died in captivity, as none were found in the wild dead after that.

I swear I've seen that woodpecker in the Keys a few times in the past few years.

How do you/they know that "this" bird in captivity/the air was the last living?

Hey, Unidan. How does a bird like the Carolina Parakeet get hunted to extinction? Seeing how well planned bird hunts in my state seem to be, and how many birds there are, it seems hard to imagine a bird being so desirable/annoying nowadays that people would hunt them down. How does such a pretty bird die out, while annoying birds like chicken hawks are still around?
