Breaking Free from Nuclear Deterrence

Commander Robert Green (Royal Navy, Ret.) delivers the 2011 Frank K. Kelly Lecture on Humanity's Future. Commander Green is the author of a recent book entitled "Security Without Nuclear Deterrence." As a bombardier-navigator in the British Royal Navy, Green was involved in many flights with nuclear weapons on board. After thinking critically about the human and environmental consequences of using such weapons, he began developing his philosophy of national security without reliance on nuclear weapons.

Everyone should listen to this and Robert Green's very short speech on TED talk in Christchurch, New Zealand. Many of the most devoted anti-war activists live there! Robert Green has a lot in common with LBJ's mistress, who also saw and heard how the war industry really works. Her African American nanny was murdered by LBJ's hitman, because she witnessed LBJ giving Madeleine a sexy hug in a motel hallway. He told her, 'fire her, get rid of her.' Madeleine respected this nanny to raise her son, Steven. The nanny disappeared about a week later. Most people think it was a hitman named Wallace. She would have kept quiet about Novermber, 21, 1963, etc., etc., but they murdered her son, Steven. Geraldo Rivera had her as a guest on his show, she explained LBJ's extremely powerful war industry friends attending a conference at the Murchison Mansion in Dallas at 11 p.m., the night before JFK was killed in a planned coup de'tat (sorry for my spelling). Everyone should also listen to all the interviews of LBJ's mistress, Madeleine Duncan Brown, and read her book. LBJ had a son with her named Steven, who was kidnapped and tortured after LBJ died because he would not keep quiet about who his father really was. She believed that this cut his life short because he needed cancer treatment, which was denied from him. Robert Green had his beloved, genius aunt, anti nuclear war activist, murdered by the M15. The James Bond movies glamourize violence, assassinations, and war, and prostitution, please don't pay to watch those stupid movies. Every feminist should listen to all of Robert Green's speeches. He is much more of a feminist than Margaret Thatcher, that is for sure. The American getting ready to marry the second prince in line to the thrown (an heir and a spare) really should hurry up and say, 'thanks, but no thanks' because the MI5 might not care about her life. Princess Diana was going to go to an anti land mines conference shortly after her assassination. The timing of her death was very convenient for the land mines industry, which still profits in the billions and kills or disables millions every year. If she were alive today, Princess Diana would probably still be attending anti land mine conferences, etc. and meeting with people who had legs blown off by land mines. Women (and men) around the world should start weekly book clubs at libraries, cafes, churches, etc. to meet and discuss all of the above. You could have 'Robert's Rules of Order' and copy the time keeper rule of 12 step meetings, in giving each person a 4 minute talking limit, then announce by a designated time keeper, 'sorry, you have only one minute left to wrap up your share, please.' Many new people are shocked by this, but it helps keep meetings democratic, and helps meetings continue years after the 'leaders' stop attending (for a wide variety of reasons). Each person could read a paragraph out loud and pass the book in a circle. This could help keep costs low, for everyone to attend. This process could also help adults with dyslexia, etc. improve their reading practice. Maybe have a pre-recorded reading for each guest to follow along with, as they read along with a sheet on their lap. Put the emphasis on discussion so that new people will attend. Book groups like this can help people overcome many addictions. For example, many women are addicted to getting pregnant because they are lonely. Social book group meetings could help women decide, 'I'm too busy and happy, reading and attending book clubs to get pregnant again.' This could also lead to more people completing a degree in their field of interest. Try to include the above Robert Green speech in free or low cost, online college course, which leads to a degree in government, history, peace studies, conflict resolution in government, etc., etc. Please type your thoughts about all of this above, by pushing the 'comment' button and type away. During the late 1950s Eisenhower was following through on his startling attacks on the military industrial complex and using the nuclear deterrent policy to very substantially down size the conventional US military..These policies were inducing a very substantial recession in the US in the late 1950s and the deterrent polices were coming under serious attack from leading generals Maxwell Taylor, Stuart Symington and leading Historians and Academic strategists like Henry Kissinger a
