The Bert Bolin Award is named after Bert Rickard Johannes Bolin (1925 –2007), a Swedish biogeochemistry/ meteorologist who served as the first chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Bolin was not only an outstanding researcher in global biogeochemical cycle and climate change, but also an effective science statesman and international leader who brought together a diverse range of views among thousands of scientists to inform the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and Kyoto Protocol. His efforts directly contributed to a broad understanding of the social, political, and security consequences of climate change brought about by anthropogenic activities. The award recognizes ground-breaking research or/and leadership in global environmental change through cross-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and trans-disciplinary research in the past 5 years.

Very good lecture. I plan to listen again at least once more.
Some of the generalizations and relationships about mesoscale convective complexes I was not aware of.

There are so many lies and omissions here it's amazing she still has a job. What about all the co2 emissions in India and China are you just too afraid to say anything about it?
