This is happening all over the island….Roadside shacks along the road selling every type of cooked and roasted food In unsanitary conditions. No standard enforcement.

The Mandeville Market is in a state of crisis. No proper bathroom, roof or water supply. It has been taken over by garbage, rat, roaches. The Parish counsel has not been doing any upgrade or maintainance to its infrastructure or keep it sanitize on a daily basic. The environment health dep., has gone missing..

There is a much deeper issue. The facilities need to be managed separately from the persons preparing the food. Without proper and consistent monitoring, this kind or reactive move will always surface.

They were monitored for a year or more. Yet they could not bring things up to standard. They don't care as customers are not seeing what is going on. Dem damm nasty.

This is unfortunate for the closing of Boston Jerk. Jamaica is recognized as the Jerk country with unique specialized seasonings and sauces for delicious taste. Food preparation in a sanitized environment is vital for human consumption. I encourage all Jerk outlets to follow the high standards from the Public Health Dept.
I trust Boston Jerk will reopen with a renewed commitment to provide delicious food for its customers. Keep up the good work at Television Jamaica.

Wow, i never knew these things were happening at my favorite jerk center in Jamaica, i haven't been to Jamaica since 2011 so i wouldn't know, i even recommended Boston jerk to some of my friends here in Canada when they're visiting Portland 😢
