Article 161 mentions the Pardoning Power of the Governor. When a convict has committed an offence against state law, the concerned punishment can be granted the pardon, reprieve, respite and remission by the Governor of the state.
Note: However, the governor cannot pardon the death sentence which only the Indian President can do.

These pardoning powers of the Governor form the part of his judicial powers. Edit:And he cannot pardon the court-martial

Our India remains as a developing country until unless punishments are given hard. Most worst thing is a gang of low caste boys( teenagers) fired a bus with petrol just for the sake of money. 40 innocent civilians were killed. And they were caught by the police, they were exposed to the court and given death sentence. But they literally escaped by granting pardon to the President (article 72) saying that they are from low caste. President granted their pardon. If such people are left literally how can we decrease the crime rate? They commit murders for fun and escape from punishments 😞
