I can’t wait for the next part of the JTVFX 359 series. His CG models look and move exactly like the models in the show did. This guy should have done the fx for PIC.

Imagine what we could have if professional movie production teams consisted of people who actually have a passion for the IP they're working on...

JTVFX doesn't use TNG accurate Galaxy class ships. It's the same model most these websites use which has details from the Generations Enterprise. For example the stripe on the back of the neck is the Generations stripe and there is a physical detail that was added around the nacelle nave light for Generations that is on this model. You could argue that ships like the Melbourn were never scene on screen in TNG so they could have had it, but the Enterprise didn't have these changes until Generations and these changes are also in his video with the Yamato since it's the same model and the Yamato never had those changes in TNG.

The OG "Hunt for Gollum" was AMAZING.

Same as "Born of hope"...

I have to rewatch both of them.

There last 10 years of Hollywood has been really depressing. But these fan projects prove there is hope.

Many intelligent, creative people out there with great ideas and passion.

Thanks for the good news

Every time I see Chewie, I can't help but think of the comedic animation made by Adult Swim (I think?).
When Han and Chewie visit Chewie's family for the first time and they're all wearing normal clothes!
Han accuses Chewie:
"You've been naked the whole time!"
And a mournful Chewie runs to Han, arms outstretched:
"But I love you!"
That's a cinematic masterpiece!

Dave, really appreciate that you explore non-Hollywood movies, really worth it. Positive exposure makes it easier to be a fan.

I remember a bare bones, low budget fan film for The Thing, where the alien finds its way to civilisation. Cheesy as hell. And yet it had that bleak, grim atmosphere of the ‘82 movie, way more than the prequel. You could feel the effort and reverence for the original.

Hey Dave! We really appreciate the mention and we will have more coming down the pike! I will be sharing this with the crew right away!
The guys want to keep making the which I am fine with. I hope we get to show it on Big Screens and bring back the OG trilogy vibes / feelings back.

You know what drives me up the wall? When someone recommends something without providing a link. Thank you so much for actually providing links

The fact is that fan films are not only more thought-out than almost every single Studio flounder nowadays - they are far more dedicated when it comes to getting the project done than ever before. When the budget is small, things have to be sacrificed, and they want the thing they make to propel a career rather than a simple paycheck - THE GAME CHANGES COMPLETELY.

What's also missing in every fan film - is a disconnected Fat Cat "making decisions" that have nothing that aligns with the value, mystique and homage to the project. For them, it's simply names on a listing, a "cost" number and what something derivative-akin has made in the past that they can hope to foster. That's bullshit thinking at it's worst and has killed more projects than there are lines of text that can be featured here.

Thanks for sharing the passions of others and the VALUE of something other than the LAMEstream media's offerings of what are supposed to be beloved tethers, that have become BOAT ANCHORS. Thanks, Dave!

I've got a digital copy The Best Of Both worlds. I did my own edit where I mixed into the episodes a lot of JTVFX scenes. The story duration is now about 1 hour 38 minutes on my copy. I'm not going to post links without JTVFX permission, but I'm pleased with it. It's great briefly seeing Q and Benjamin Sisko in one of the best episodes ever in Star Trek 😊🖖

The Wolf 359 film was fantastic and brilliantly tied a lot of plot points together into one cohesive continuity.

Watched The Hunt for Gollum nanoseconds after this vid. How had I missed this before now? Outstanding film. Cheers for the heads-up.
