Having filmed MANY demos over the years (and the first public one) the F-22 demo never ceases to amaze me.

Got to finally see an F-22 demo in person recently and was blown away. And I got the distinct feeling they were showing about half of what it's really capable of lol.

I believe that is called a "falling leaf" maneuver. The nose is pointed at a central fixed point during the maneuver. In a flat spin, the nose and tail describe a circle.

First time I saw an F-22 at an airshow (Eglin AFB) I was completely awed by the fact that other fighters at the show used something of a racetrack pattern to show off their maneuvers, but the F-22 just sort of sat center stage and masterfully DANCED in the sky. Right then and there I realized that "Yeah, these things are friggin' expensive, but WORTH EVERY PENNY".

I'm a 31 year, retired corporate pilot (25 in jets). I saw the F-22 demo a few years ago and was amazed at the maneuvers it performs with vectored thrust. The advantages this must give it in air-to-air combat must be incredible. And, this is not a new design anymore. Tom Cruise needs one of these!
