The adventure game Flashback was a revelation back in 1992. Here's how the remake is shaping up.

Flashback was awesome! Oh and it was one of those games that was actually better on the Genesis than the SNES which was kinda rare.

This was one of my favorite games as a kid. (The old version, of course). I played it on my SEGA Genesis all the time, but I never really finished it until I was older and played it again on an emulator. I even chose this game for my first Let's Play because it was one of the most memorable for me, and I just love the "climbing-style platforming" that wasn't in many games back then.

Actually the first time I was walking around the Citadel in the first Mass Effect, I was instantly reminded of Flashback. It made me love being there even more. It was quite nostalgic. :)

I was 11 when I played & beat this game, was such a weird & new kind of story gameplay, way ahead of its time. Also Out of This World which was release the same year. Nostalgia!

If you listened carefully, it will be out at August 21st on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and it was announced that way as well.

It's annoying when people say it looks like certain games. The original Flashback is about 20 years old! It inspired so many current games including Uncharted. Remaking it is a great idea and honouring the original by keeping the 2D aspect adds to the nostalgia. I for one will definitely be getting it!

Honestly, I like this remake for a few reasons: It tries to have a different experience of the game itself, and the surprises included in it makes a better reason for the original fans to play it.
I don't like exact remakes, why do I need to buy a game that I know by heart already? So I'll buy it day one for sure.
And what I see here... is a representation of 2013, while the original represented its own era. I don't see the problem here, I think the game is nice looking.
