3 Reasons to Soak millets before you cook.
1. Reduces Anti-nutrients significantly, Tannins, Polyphenols, Trypsin Inhibitors are anti-nutrients that can cause gas, tummy issues, constipation etc. These also dont let our body absorb the real nutrients like calcium.
Soaking reduces these anti-nutrients. So better for us to digest, especially babies
2. High Fibre content in millets. The fibre is present in concentric ring structures inside the millet, the water needs more time to seep inside.
Consuming more fibre in the right form is important for our body to keep the gut healthy. Remember fibre is the main food for the gut bacteria, so eating fibre in the right form is important.
3. Doubles in size and is much softer to eat - It tastes yummy too.
