West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday slammed political parties for “indulging in cheap politics” over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor inside the premises of a Kolkata hospital.

“Instead of standing with the (woman’s) family, CPI(M) and BJP are indulging in cheap politics. They think they can do a Bangladesh here. But let me tell you, I am not greedy for power,” Mamata Banerjee said.

people have No trust on mamta benerjee government. CBI had to take over. The accused was a contractual employee of Kolkata police. the principal said there is no foul play, the police tried to pass it as a ramdom depression related problem... Shame on these people.

Mamata police have done their best to hide the gamgrape case. They initially tried to hush it up by claiming it was a suicide, then arrested only one accused to protect influential ones from TMC, they cremated the dead body as fast as possible to destroy any chance of further enquiry

Her Advocate (Govt. Lawyer) fought tooth and nail in Calcutta High Court resisting CBI probe into the gruesome crime... its just a public posture trying to save face amid the spontaneous agitation happening in the state, which has also spread throughout the country. Her police did nothing to nab the actual culprits as is evedend from the case diary produced before the CHC and prompted the Division Bench of CJ to transfer the investigation to the central agency..
