Exactly that's the whole point. Enjoy religions without being attached to one. Pray like a muslim on friday, read like a jew, meditate like a buddhist, worship like a christian, be practical like an atheist, be misterious like a hinduist, go to a cave like practicing eleusian misteries, get drunk like a dyonisiac worshiper, etc.

For me, I became a Chaos Magician after studying all kinds of religions, spiritual teachings, and such, then coming to the conclusion that in general they’re all talking about the same thing from different perspectives and practices. So I incorporate them all. I see them all as valuable tools in the tool chest, if you will. They’re all types of meditations to me. I see it as self placebo for self improvement while being fully aware of it. I dont get all woo woo with it.

This is so beautiful and is the reason I followed you years ago. I had profound spiritual experiences and i had no model to base my experience in. I wasn't religious, nor did i want to be, but i wanted a way to figure out what happened and how i can apply it to better my life. This model of magick and approaching spiritual truth was mind-blowing and perfect for me at the time.

I wondered "WHY have i never heard of this before?" I agree with you, the message was lost somewhere because let me tell you, Jason, I don't know of anyone else that speaks of magick this way in the media today.


I wish i knew how to help spread this teaching too because i do believe it is the next step in evolving our way of thinking about religion.

When you said that you were "goofing off" I understood that and felt it deeply. I've always lived this way. But without a defined system of any kind. If anything, I'd say I study and enjoy the science of neurology and psychology. What do I want? Why do I want it? What's stopping me from moving towards it? And what are my values? All of this is deeply heartfelt with a strong connection to what I think and feel. Some of us just create newness without limitations as a routine because we have always preferred that and don't feel held by what we have to be, do, think, or feel. This life is each of ours to enjoy. Nobody can live it but you. Feel your gifts, and practice them. This is what generates the most joy and goodness.

A lot of what you have said here aligns with his views of what magic is, and he gives some amazing talks on the subject, which are readily available via a quick YT search.
