I see data leaks and random bans for this experience in 2023... FUN!

If this video gets 10,000 likes I'll do something else

10:00 Fun fact: Stickmasterluke (creator of Natural Disaster Survival) was the ONLY person who ever managed to get this face, most likely due to his account getting compromised during the hack. Everyone else who tried to buy it got only an error message.

I remember when that chat filter glitch happened. I remember a person jokingly saying the a word and then it showed up. They where really confused. People caught on to this and said other bad words. It was all showing up. After a few seconds, I have never seen so much spam and anarchy in the chat in one game. People were saying the worst words imaginable. It was insane.

The bypassing the chat filter thing is still something that people do this day tbh. I don't think they can fully eradicate issues, cs more and more people will find ways to bypass it and won't even care about the consequences. Ima just say if you ever lose your account to hackers, or any issue like this, you better fight and I mean fight hard to get it back, cs losing your account that you worked hard on isn't fun and its frustrating. Ignore people that try to make you mad, leave games immediately that ask for any type of info regarding personal account info, and I wish yall the best.

Edit: So I just watched the video of meepcity being hacked. And ik was scary, but the way the people kept hitting the person that was hanging upside down and how it made a "ahhhh noise everytime it was hit, made me laugh so fucking hard lol. Now for kids who didn't know wth was going on well yea I get how that could be a pretty traumatizing experience. Nonetheless im glad I didn't know about meepcity until later, or rather im glad I didn't decide to join it that day.

I was at the junkbot raid as a junkbot, it was how i first discovered da hood. It wouldve been way more satisfying if i knew the game i was raiding had such crappy players. Good memories of chasing 1 person in a hoard of 7 while they try to hold us back with guns, but get overwhelmed.

The Roblox website was heavily compromised during the 2012 April Fools’ Day incident, resulting in the website being taken offline for a brief period of time. While no actual hacking of the website occurred, this did overwhelm the Roblox admin panel. The incident was a widespread and highly publicized one.

Roblox was closed

The hackers released hidden content that was not for the public eye and subsequently released more unreleased items as time went on. The “Hack” lasted for all of a day since on the 2nd of April Roblox regained control and brought the site offline. They patched the vulnerabilities and issued a public statement sending their grievances to those who had been adversely affected by the hack.

Lil Nas X Concert
With the unparalleled success Fortnite was having with their live events, garnering millions upon millions of players every event, it was only time for Roblox to follow suit. With Lil Nas X headlining the first live event records we’re bound to be broken. The Lil Nas X concert garnered 33 million views over the 2 days that the event happened.

There have been plenty of concerts that came after with the likes of big names (ex. Twenty One Pilots, KSI, The Chainsmokers, and Tate Mcrae) adding their own twist to the game feature. Lil Nas X was a stepping stone as for as events were concerned, with every consequent event upping the grandeur every time.

2016 Roblox Hack
The 2016 Roblox Hack, or Security Breach as it is sometimes referred to is perhaps one of the most grandeur attempts made to take down the website. In mid-July, a group of unauthorized individuals access the admin panel of Roblox’s Customer Service test site.

This particular site, while not the actual live rendition of the site, did contain an entire database of production-level information from 2012. With it, individual who had played or used Roblox in 2012 could have these particular sets of information be compromised:

Credit card information
IP addresses / logs
Messages
Robux balances
A compromised staff account was used to access the database in the first place. The data was being scraped when the attackers were caught and booted off the site. However, the damage was already done and it has been reported that about 150, 000 accounts were compromised in the process.

Many inactive accounts from that era had their logins sold depending on the account’s value as well. Following this, Roblox was forced to send out Security Notifications to certain accounts who the company thought might have had their information compromised.

Luckily, a vast majority of Robloxxians were not caught in the crossfire of this security breach.

2021 Roblox Downtime
On October 28, 2021, at 4:04 PM Roblox was meant to go under its regularly scheduled maintenance, but something went awry. The downtime led to features like Avatar Editor, Avatars, chat, and in-game performance being degraded significantly. Usually, Roblox maintenance lasts no more than 30 minutes, but this issue seemed parasitic. Problems kept on popping up, and fixing the game in a pseudo-vegetative state was no longer an option. Hence, after hour 5 of persistent issues, Roblox became inaccessible to users for the first time in history.

The downtime would last 72 hours, with the majority of their player base being put in a queue in an order to circumvent the waves of players logging on at the same time. This further added fuel to the blaze that the Roblox community was in.

This was such a paragon event in Roblox’s history, that there is a commemorative tip that says “Downtimes don’t last longer than 24 hours” during the maintenance hours landing page.

Team C00lKidd
Where do we begin with team c00lkidd? Team cool kid c00lkidd was a user that joined Roblox in November 2013. He is responsible for one of the biggest exploit hacks Roblox has ever experienced; he hacked many popular Roblox games such as Work At A Pizza Place and Prison Life in 2014.

Once he had control of the games, the game suddenly changed colors to red, and weird music tracks began to play the music tracks were just a mix of other songs that were mashed together to produce the eeriest sounding track. Most of the players got annoyed and stopped playing the game entirely.

Now later on Roblox, they managed to terminate c00lkidd, but his group was still active for two more years. Wreaking havoc on infant servers far and wide. Team c00lkidd carries its reputation as being the most successful hacking group in Roblox history on the basis of how many games were affected.

The T-Shirt Incident
Not very well-known, but for a brief time in 2020, hackers were able to upload T-Shirts on any Roblox account. This led to obscene T-Shirts being uploaded on the official Roblox account alongside the aforementioned John, and Jane Doe accounts being compromised as well.

Contrary to popular belief, the actual accounts were not compromised or hacked in any way or form. The hackers were able to access the API (the system used to upload T-Shirts) and were, therefore, able to upload clothing to any account regardless of whether they had the login for the account or not.

The bug was quickly fixed, and all compromised T-Shirts were removed from the system.

9:18 full story:

April 1, 2012: A user named Ellernate had somehow used .ROBLOSECURITY to log into an administrator on SiteTest3. Not all admins were registered on the testing sites though. This caused him to control the website, putting things in warning banners like, "Hi, we are having issues with our publishing system. Hang tight yo!" and "Minish, I need you boo. I gotta see you boo. But yea this isn't Minish." A part of the incident was an argument between Merely and Minish about Roblox's economy. Caleb244 somehow took charge of this and took over Minish's account. Minish bought Merely's Domino Crown, which was Merely's favorite shop item. The two users were both banned which ended up in Merely quitting Roblox. Soon after, Pheedy and are17, who were both controlled by Ellernate, were now promoted to moderators and unbanned Minish. Here is how the Roblox economy was damaged. Caleb244 is known for making people post bad things in forums. An example is ReeseMcBlox, that was posted by hackers, "i like (REDACTED) in my mouth and ears at the same time" While Ellernate continued to take over the site, iTrapped, the creator of Brick Planet, destroyed Roblox's economy. He weirdly set down the prices of valuable items, and changed the name of some items. An example is "Explosive Hair" which was renamed to "Rocket Hair." Then a face called c: was released by Roblox (it was compromised by the April Fools Incident, but the issue was resolved a day later.) The only person who bought it was "Stickmasterluke". Any other person who attempted to buy it just got an error message. Another face was added which was called, "hai guize derp_image" which is offsale as of the time of making this comment. The hackers continued to unban accounts, and ban staff members. One example of an unbanned account was 1dev2, who is now terminated. Roblox later shut down the website and everything was turned back to normal. The Roblox admin panel was updated, and the avatar shop was offline until the evening. Ellernate was banned on April 2, 2012. iTrapped was banned on May 4, 2012. And Caleb244 was banned in May 2012.

This was all the evidence I can find.

Edit: I can't believe I got this many likes for just an essay comment. I wrote this full paragraph. Some stuff were from Fandom. I guess we all agree that Ellernate is evil then. We know this is the worst hacking incident ever. This incident almost destroyed Roblox 5.5 years into activity. Thank you guys for 100 likes. I don't know how much this means to me, thank you for bringing me attention in this comment, especially for me torturing myself to write a whole paragraph about Roblox in 2012.

Actually the Crosswoods thing was a backdoor abusing/exploiting roblox's api's to trick the moderation bot into banning your account

Ashuakkly the "boorito maze" shortage was officialy debunked by roblox saying it was something in their api's system settings and not the chipotle's event

There was once a game one of my "friends" had me play. It was game where you would shoot other players. The chat was still there but there was a second chat that didnt have the censor on it so if you said something bad in the chat everyone could see it on the second chat. It was crazy on how it still existed.
