One thing I love about this game is how they made you feel genuine dread. We see the creatures here may be strong, but they can die. We see Bittergiggle not just be hurt, but actually die. While this would usually be a relief since he was our foe, but here, you can feel genuine sympathy for him. He was a creature who was given a purpose, yet was never allowed to fulfill that purpose. He only joined Dadadoo since he felt he found his calling, only to find his demise. The general tone of this chapter also just gives a tone of dread in appearance. The location of a run-down city ran by a psychopathic dictator surgeon helps sell the depressing vibes. All the citizens look completely empty and emotionless, as if they had all the life sucked out of them, leaving them as husks. We also get to see into the lives of these creatures who just wish to survive and live a decent life. The only reason Dadadoo hates everyone is because of his mistreatment and his friends leaving the moment he needed them most. This chapter doesn't exactly instill fear, but gives a tone of hatred and loathing. Even in the ending, where it seems like peace has returned and perhaps we have a chance of finally finding our child, we are betrayed and most likely returned to square one.
