When the beat drops at 40:05 is goated! They will never make games like they used to when they actually cared and tried not just some money grabbing thing. Flying around underwater on a swordfish is a loving memory i won't ever forget.

As a kid never realized how beautiful aquatic ambiance is

My twin sister was obsessed with this game. Throughout many years I would remember her playing this. She would play it when she had friends over, or when her girlfriend was cooking something in the kitchen, or when she had bad insomnia. There would be sometimes where I would come downstairs in our apartment in Portland, OR at 2am to get a midnight munchy, and she'd be huddled over the SNES and in front of the TV as if she had discovered fire, her fingers and digits moving quickly to perfectly weave through alligators, riding on dolphins, and groaning whenever she couldn't make a particular level, and trying and trying again.

As of December 29th of 2023 she has been gone from this world for 9 years. I'm listening today, urging myself to start new habits and to take care of myself in ways that are not harmful or damaging, and listening to this music while I clean my partner's apartment makes me miss her so much. You never know what pain someone is hiding inside of them. I will possibly never know why she took her own life, but I know that nearly a decade later, I'm trying to learn how to forgive myself and her for what happened. All I can do is weep and carry on, and hope that some day in the beyond I can huddle with her in a part of the cosmos that sparkles with the scintillation of rotating golden bananas and music that sounds the way chewing and popping bubblegum feels. I miss you, Ariel, and I'm sorry I failed you so badly.

DKC not only has arguably the greatest SNES OST, but it's easily up there for greatest OST in gaming. David Wise didn't have to go this hard, but he did, and we can't thank him enough for it.

this game came out my senior year in high school. we had a rare consecutive snow/ice storm that gave us three days of snow days.. we spent all three in my buddy's basement playing. The music takes me right back <3

Crazy...2024 will mark the 30th Anniversary of Donkey Kong Country. The game would never be the engrossing experience it was without the soundtrack. Thank you David Wise, Evelyn Novakovic, and Robin Beanland! 🎷🦧🐒

1995 i see a younger me..playing my SNES and enjoying DKC. Saying to myself " i hope these times never end". Time flies when you're having fun, cherish every moment.

For me, these are the sounds of childhood... come to life once again <3 They never truly leave us, it is we who leave for a time, only to return, and to remember what these sounds, feelings, and memories once meant to us... and in doing so, realizing that they still mean all of that and more. A timeless innocence, encapsulated in simple melodies and adventurous characters who never seem to age, despite the passing of time... It's still all here, right where it's always been.

(it just loops from there afterwards. It repeats the same tracks essentially)

DKC music is its own genre, change my mind.
I've never come across ambient music that resonates like DKC does. Even as a kid, this was one those special games i'd turn the game on and sit there listening to the music (caught dancing to Funky Kong's music several times too lol)

I have fond memories of playing this with a childhood friend who died in 2012. Hearing this brings me back to that moment in life.

I miss playing Donkey Kong Country Return. That game was perfect. I remember one day with a sunny weather, my uncles, aunts and grandmother came home to spend some time with us, but before I was enjoying myself with DK Country Return. By that time I was in primary school.
I hope those days remain safely in my memories forever. Nostalgia is one of the feeling that hits the hardest.

One of the greatest soundtracks ever written. Feel free to quote me on that.

Why do these type of songs get me emotional? I think it is the harsh realization that those simple yet golden childhood moments are gone forever. Enjoy your youth!

Stickerbush Symphony is such a masterpiece. More nostalgia and nineties is not possible
David Wise had no business going this hard ♥
