It’s weird how compared to other racket sports, badminton doesn’t have a serve game. Tennis and table tennis do have a serve game where the serve gives an advantage to the server and is an offensive shot. Badminton serves are below the height of the net and mostly neutral serves like the low backhand serve, the high forehand serve.

Sounds like the issue table tennis had decades ago. It makes complete since to not allow synthetic spin to a serve. A great service should be an art. But many artists prefer to counterfeit due to the value despite the obvious reasons why it should be wrong.
