Do you know what kills me? In my darkest days of grief, I found some sort of solace in Nicks' work. His ability to unearth the Beauty or truth from something so devastating or painful as part of our human experience in my opinion assisted me moving through the stages of grief. Grief isn't linear, it's not timed nor is there a prescribed time for how long grieving will take -being an Australian agnostic I had no cultural or religious regiment of how to behave or 'appropriately'. NC&TBS helped me more than words can express, sometimes music feels like it's in our soul, and for me that was particularly poignant. I worried so much after his sons tragic passing, I just thought 'who's going to help Nick Cave grieve?" Which sounds stupid but he and TBS played such an important part of my grieving, I would of been even more lost without them.And it made me so very sad. Now that I have seen a few tidbits of new album &shorts from film I may get the answer to my question/worries. X

Saw this at the Duke of York's in Brighton last night. A film about creativity as saviour, grief, hope, despair and the working process. As an artist much of the studio-time conversation resonated with me; as a man - I just feel incredibly lucky not to have had to go through what the Cave family have been through and thankful at their bravery to share this with me. Beautiful.

This film was beautiful. Even if you aren't a huge Bad Seeds fan, it's still worth watching.

"They weren't there last year." You can feel him alluding to his son in every monologue so far, and it's just heartbreaking to see him in this state. I feel like something big and dark is imminent, and I really don't know what to expect. I'm not sure, but I feel like this album will be more poignant than The Boatman's Call.
