Cabela's Catfish Fishing Challenge!! (WEIRD Bait)

In this Fishing Challenge I take you guys with me to Cabela's to buy some fishing gear! Cabela's has a HUGE Catfish and Carp section FILLED with baits and rigs. The mission is to buy some new rigs and bait that I have never tried before, take them to the water and try to catch some big winter fish!! Where should I go tackle shopping and do a budget fishing challenge next???

Absolutely love it when you do more fishing than bass - not that bass fishing is really boring, it's just that I see that all the time on Youtube. I love your saltwater videos, panfish, catfish, carp, all that stuff. I like that you appreciate a wider variety of fish than the ol' LMB.

I wouldn’t use any of the catfish dough or anything of that store bought stuff. Catching shad or bluegill or any kind of baitfish is cheaper and works so much better.
(Also that’s a male channel catfish)

Go to catfish bait: shrimp- cooked or uncooked. Hot dogs too- but mostly in summer.

Being a trapper from Canada I can tell you that beaver castor is used in vinnilla and lots of perfumes and colognes as a it holds the scent and keeps it smelling for longer

Catfish I'll use 65lb/80lb test braid, for dip and dough baits use a trebles, for cut bait circle hooks, I'd recommend 1oz weights tungsten if you can, heavy to XH rod and a reel with a good heavy duty drag system.

How to tell what type of catfish it is if it's a channel then it's normally going to be more on the gray side if it's a blue catfish more blue tint if it's a flathead it's more of a green Flathead it has a flathead and they usually get it really big and also if it's a bullhead it usually has a very thick neck and it's usually small and it has a very green tint like the Flathead

Step one when fishing for catfish, dont use 4 lb test. But you caught em anyways so good job bro
